Welcome!
First off, I would like to THANK you for taking the time to read my blog. To give you fair warning... I’m not a writer - nor will I ever be! I guess you could say God blessed me with other gifts and talents; writing, singing, and spelling are certainly not them!
The story behind this blog is to give you some insight into my preceptorship journey (to becoming a nurse). For those who don’t know, I am finishing my final semester at Trinity Western University, and will be graduating this May with a BScN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). For the next two months, I must complete a total of 288hrs of one-on-one time with an RN. I will be shadowing her for the first few days and will eventually work my way up; taking on her whole patient load etc. With her constant support and mentorship, this journey will shape the way I work, act, and view nursing. I know that this journey will have it’s bumps, but I am looking forward to the finish line!
This blog will give me the opportunity to reflect on my shifts; giving you inside scoop of what goes on in the life of Bethany. My hope is to share my heart with you - the frustrations I face when making a difficult decisions, the incredible stories of my patients, the tear jerking moments (ladies be ready with your kleenexes), and best of all, the moments that put a smile on my face.
Enjoy!
